Looking for a fun craft to tackle for the upcoming Fall months? OttLite Ambassador Kathy Cano-Murillo, aka Crafty Chica, has a simple DIY craft to turn your ordinary candles into Washi Tape Happiness Candles! Here's Kathy:
I became addicted to washi tape and started gathering rolls and rolls in my studio. I especially love the ones with wonderful, uplifting affirmations. After a while I started thinking that if I really love the meanings of the phrases, I should be sharing and showing them off! So I went to work.
These are really easy because all you need are assorted washi tape rolls (the more contrast the better) and candles from the dollar store.
The tape I used is from the Michaels Recollections line. Don't forget to use your Michaels coupon – so worth it!
I wrapped one candle horizontally and the other vertically. Then I took some twine and wrapped that around the candles and added a jump ring with some charms.
Hearts and sparkles of course!
Here is the secret to these candles: The whole time you make them, think about the things that make you happy in your life and the things you want to have more of in your life. Things that will make you feel all warm and gooey inside. Enjoy!
