Mitten Commitment: Have you made yours?

Posted by Autumn

The first-ever Mitten Commitment wraps up on Saturday, December 3rd. We think it was a huge success, with millions of crafters all over the country spreading the word. Many told us they planned to donate their mittens to local charities, while others sent in their lovely, handmade creations. We're thrilled with either option--it's all about crafting for a good cause!

And there's still time to make a difference!

We're accepting mittens right up through this weekend! You can knit, crochet, or sew a pair of mittens, or embellish a store-bought pair. They can be any size and as traditional or as creative as you want! We’ve received striped mittens, fleecy mittens, even upcycled sweater mittens!

Check out the patterns we've posted here on the Giving tab of our blog to help get you inspired! Celebrity designers The Crochet Dude and Suede have even donated mitten patterns for the cause.

We'll ship all your wonderful, handmade mittens to The Salvation Army on December 9th. And if you choose to donate your mittens locally, please send us a picture or post an image on our Facebook wall! We want to see your Mitten Commitment!
