Pumpkin Soup

Posted by Autumn

This week I’m delighted to bring you a guest blog from my dear friend and fabulous foodie, Peggy Paul. Peggy has been a cookbook editor for 3 years, a foodie since she could hold a spatula, and a wonderful writer for nearly just as long.To me, fall means rich colors and striking contrast--deep ridges in the smooth, round curves of a pumpkin; crisp, bowl-of-soup, casserole-bubbling-in-the-oven weekends with the occasional Waldorf-salad-in-the-park afternoon. A life with many interests: crochet

Posted by Autumn

People with many interests live, not only longest, but happiest.I learned how to crochet about three years ago. I've mastered scarves, hats, and baby blankets. Friends and family members are always asking for sweaters, socks, and those adorable amigurumi toys. Each of these little chores (and often there are 10 or more for the weekend) gives me a sense of purpose—a roadmap for a productive [Read More...]

Posted by Autumn

What inspired you to start knitting? How did you learn? I first learned to knit when I was a high school exchange student in Japan. My host sister taught me because she had recently learned, and my first project was a purple fun-fur scarf. Then I picked it up as a more involved hobby when I was in college, and my boyfriend's mom (now my mother-in-law) encouraged me. She bought me lots of yarn, so I couldn't refuse! Do you have a favorite place to craft (studio, living room, on the subway, [Read More...]
