Ott Floor Lamp
Have had this lamp for over 10 years and the bulb needs replacement. Even then, the lamp didn't fail, it's base cracked and the lamp sagged about 15deg.
It took me 3-4 minutes to figure out how to extract the old bulb. I can sympathize with Tom, however, since it's not your every-day garden-variety socket.
Now I need to hunt down a replacement bulb compatible with the magnetic ballast used on this product.

Tech worked -- but couldn't change bulb!!
We were attracted to the lighting technology, and found it worked well. But when we tried to change the bulb we couldn't even after watching the video (which was itself a hint -- how many lighting companies have to produce videos about how to change a bulb?). Result was a shattered bulb, and a lamp consigned to the trash. Caveat Emptor.

Nice, natural light
Just got my lamp and decided to write a review while I was registering the product. Though I have only been using it for a short time, and cannot speak with any experience, the light is soothing and the lamp was quite easy to assemble. The assembly instructions could have been more detailed, since I only noticed the styrofoam I was supposed to remove after I had the light on for a bit, and there is a red piece that has to be removed from the metal pole, which is also not indicated. The lamp is a bit short and not incredibly bright, but otherwise very user-friendly, and the light that it emits is heavenly.

Don`t waste your money
The lamp stopped coming on and the part that starts the bulb is not replaceable.
Went out just after 2-year warranty.
I now have an expensive paper weight.

Beware-Sharp Corners
I recently received this product and installed it. I am visually impaired and was looking for a light to aid in seeing my keyboard, etc. The light does just fine however the corners on the plastic shade are quite sharp. I am also hair challenged and have cut my scalp twice here in the first day of use. May have to set this product aside and find something a little less dangerous.
