Replacement Bulb Does Not Fit
I have Model #OLFX18TO and Model#FL-18. The replacement bulb does not fit either of the lamp sockets. I thought it was a flawed bulb; but the second purchase did not fit, either. In fact, I had to throw away my portable folding craft lamp because the bulb could not be removed to replace. The Ott-Lite customer service rep told me I probably need to use needle-nose pliers to break out some of the plastic on my lamps' receptacles for the bulbs to fit. My lamps don't have the rises that she mentioned. So, I have $200 in lamps that I can't even use.

18w bulb in my desk lamp lasted more than 15 years.
I bought my Ott-Lite True Color desk lamp shortly after I set up my home office in the late 1990's. I've never had to replace the 18w, twin-tube fluorescent bulb -- or any other part of the lamp -- until now (June 2014) when the bulb has begun to flicker slightly. My bulb does not say type B on it, and oddly, the paperwork that came with the lamp does not specify the lamp model or specs. Also, the OttLite web site page for the 18w Tpe B bulb does not show the dimensions physical dimensions of the bulb, and in the photo it looks longer than the bulb I have. I

first bulb not good
I thought I was getting a great lamp when I got the ott lamp for sewing, but I am very surprized to see the short life of an expensive bulb. I will give it one more try before finding another lamp.

faulty stype of bulb
I had to replace two (2)| of these bulbs in the first six months I had the wing shade floor lamp. I have now given the floor lamp to good will and purchased another model with a much more reliable style of lamp. This bulb type will not stand up under ordinary household usage.
