I bought this fixture in white a year or so ago at Office Depot. Then it included the plug-in charger. Yesterday I bought another one (black) for the same price at the same store, but now it no longer comes with the wall charger. Today store manager told me this fixture no longer comes with the charger and Office Depot does not sell the charger. He said the charger is now an accessory and available only at OttLite. This is like selling a new car without tires and claiming tires are now an accessory! The Office Depot manager suggested buying an charger at Radio Shack. The only charger they had cost more than the light itself. To make matters worse, OttLite does not seem to list the charger as an accessory. Moreover the light fixture does not come with batteries. This is a reprehensible rip off. Shame on you OttLite.

Nokia charger ACP-12U works well with this LED lamp
4 AA should output 6V. My Nokia charger ACP-12U is rated at 5.7V and 800mA, works perfectly with this Ottlite LED lamp. I find many Nokia ACP-12U chargers at my local GoodWill, $1 each. I also removed the plastic grill on those LED lights, to make my lamp brighter. Ottlite should build that grill as diffuser and build it with clear plastic or glass, instead of black/white plastic.

Would you really post this? No stars
Unable to obtain replacement light tubes for the (preferred) T48086 OTT light I bought the smaller LED mobile task light; the clerk sold it with the fact that it's battery operated, hence portable for various tasks. After twice replacing the AAA batteries in ten days, I'm about to return it as misrepresented. It should NOT be sold or promoted as a "portable", and the light is less not more dispersed and helpful than the light tube version.

Ottlite Mobile Task Light
The lamp gives alot of light but not for long. Batteries - brand new ultra lithium - only last 3 to 4 hours. Called the company and they said that is what is expected. Certainly not what you need when you are traveling or attending a class. While an adapter is nice, it doesn't help when you are in a situation where an outlet isn't convenient. So this was a real disappointment for me.

I bought this at JoAnn's Fabric a year or more ago. I love it. Great to travel with. There are a few negatives though. The batteries don't last long enough if you are in a hotel room and beading. I wish the adapter had come with it. Since I love to travel with this, I will be getting the adapter. Well worth the money, just purchase an adapter with it if you plan to travel.

i love my small ott lite! It is light wt. and easy to travel with. Batteries last several hours, I have not tried rechargable batteries. When the power went out I could still read my book. I did get it on sale for half price. Ott lite should include the DC adaptor.
